She graduated as Master of Science in biochemistry and biotechnology after she completed her master internships in the TORCH team in 2020. She then started her PhD at the faculty of medicine and health sciences where she focusses on identifying compensatory mutations in extensively drug resistant tuberculosis strains to improve our knowledge on Mtb transmission.
Selien is currently working on her PhD dissertation, titled: “Identification of compensatory mutations in extensively drug resistant Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains: understanding the dynamics and mechanisms of transmission”.
